I am exhausted - let me try to give you a little rundown of the last 24 hours. Yesterday night I had a slumber party planned with all of my DHS 98 girlfriends (all of my high school friends). We started out having dinner at Christina's Restaurant and then we went back to Lindsey's house - we had scrapbooks, videos, mums, cheerleading uniforms, toe-touches, herkies, and even some stunts! Here are two picures that I have from the night - hopefully I will have some more as we get all the pictures together. The first one is Cassidy (never a dull moment) and the second is of me and Czarina - my best friend all through Jr. High, High School, College, etc, etc...
Ok - so around 11:30pm - as the stunts got a little more dangerous - I decided to go check my cell phone. There were 3 missed calls and 3 messages from Randi (my sister), my dad, and Jeremy (Ashley's boyfriend). Ashley's blood pressure had sky-rocketed and they were going to be inducing labor and not allowing a single person in the room with her because her blood pressure was so high. They told me that if she was not dialated by morning, they would do a C-section. I freaked out in case you were wondering. So - at Midnight, I drove home to get a few hours of sleep - got up around 3am - took a shower - drove to the hospital - slept on the most uncomfortable fold out bed ever created for about an hour - woke up at 6am with Ashley. Oh....forgot to mention that also at Midnight, I was talking with my other sister, Randi - who informed me that she was moving to California....

get this.... TODAY! Yes, she is moving to California and leaving today. Don't even ask questions - I don't have answers. So I freak out a little about that - but that is ok. She is a big girl!
Ok - so I leave the hopsital around 8am this morning because the nurse is acting like this is going to be an all day thing - and Ashley was pretty calm so I thought I would come home for a few hours. When I get home - My fabulous-almost-5-year-old-princess decided that she did not like the length of her hair - I will just let the pictures do the talking:
Lots and lots of hair (oh and do you like her highlights?)- but I am so happy about this because she is so so cute in this new "do" and it is going to be so much easier!!! Ok - so we get home from the haircut - Kip runs out to pick up contacts - and I get a phone call that we are having a C-section at NOON! Call Kip about 10 times - he comes home - Drive back to the hospital (approximately 45minutes-1hour away) - I got to see Ash for a few minutes before the surgery - and now we have a new baby!!! I do not have pictures of Desiree Nicole yet but I do have this great picture of her footprints on Jeremy's scrubs.
Desiree is 5 lbs 3 oz and 18 inches long. She is doing GREAT! They have had her in the NICU for the past few hours but she is expected to go in the nursery very soon and be with her momma soon enough! Ashley is resting! Keep her in your prayers as she will be recovering over the next few days and weeks!
So - I am home now - I have had an eventful day but it has been blessed and wonderful! I am going to sleep now and I will wake up tomorrow - Easter - with fresh eyes for the miracles that God does every day! I have seen a lot lately.

Shauna,
Wow - You sure have had one of "those" weeks!! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. God does bless us all & he has his ways of making us see them! Congratulations to your sister & family! Can't wait to see pictures of the baby.
and as for Randi...remember my sister moved to Cali a little over a month ago with 3 weeks notice. So, I pretty much know how you feel there!
Hugs, Hugs!!!
Get some rest, I'm going to bed too!!
Shauna,
You certainly have been a busy Lady! I am so glad to hear that every concern has turned out well!(Thank goodness for cell phones!)
Congrats on the new member of your family....I love her name!
Your Princess's hair is lovely! She sounds like a pistol! (My Jess did the same thing, at about the same age.....only it was minutes before we were leaving for a family wedding in which she was to be a flower girl! No one warns you about these types of parenting snafus!) :o)
I hope you can get some rest so that you can enjoy a blessed Easter! I am sure the delight on your precious kids faces will empower you.
Lots of love to all,
Jan
