It is crazy that I have to follow my last post with this one. But please keep Chase in your prayers. Chase has had a fever for the past 3-4 days. Kip took him to our pediatrician 2 days ago and she didnt know what it was but prescribed him an antibiotic. Well, yesterday, while I was in Chicago - I got a call from his daycare and they told me that he had a huge lump on the side of his neck. They thought that it was probably some kind of bug bite or spider bite. Kip went to check it out and he also had the fever back so he took him straight up to the pediatrician. She told him she had no idea what it was and to take him to the hospital for blood tests and a CT scan. After that, he was sent to our ENT - then admitted to the hospital. So - I decided to fly home - DeVry is such a great company. It is so wonderful to know that I work for people who care about me and my family - they got me on the quickest flight, called a cab for me and didnt think twice about me leaving for this purpose.
Anyhow - I spent the night here at Medical City with Chase. He is in good spirits today! A little better than he was yesterday. He keeps singing his ABC's over and over again. We have been told that it is an infection in his lymph node. So - we are getting atibiotics through an IV every 8 hours and some other medicines. If that doesnt fix the problem, they will have to do surgery to get rid of the infection.
So - prayers please!!

This is wild! We have some friends whose son just went through this recently. He did have to have the surgery, but things are better now. I hope that everything works out for you guys. Poor Chase. We will be praying for quick healing and recovery for his little body. Love you!

Brent said he had to have shots but I had no idea what was going on! Poor Chase. And it is wonderful Devry knows that family is first. Keep us posted.
