Fall Festival

Posted by Shauna |

Saturday, we ventured over to the Flower Mound Fall Festival with Chase and Macy. Mackenzie is really too cool for us these days - she had other plans as usual. We went ahead and put the kids in their costumes to get as much wear out of them as possible. I am so frugal that one night a year for a $10-20 costume just doesnt make sense. Luckily, Chase has been wearing his day and night for about a week or two now. Ok - so here is the picture in the parking lot as we arrived.

Chase in the Mini-petting zoo. This chicken was quite disturbing to me. Supposedly it is some kind of French chicken but it looked pretty beat down to me. I felt sad for the chicken...and the other animals actually. Any goat that will just let a bunch of 2-6 year old pet it and mess with it have to have something missing upstairs.

We decided to have lunch after the festival. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Thai Tango - a locally owned restaurant here. It has always been a little pricy but we didnt care that much when we were banking (ok maybe not so much - it just seems that way now with one income)...anyhow - we had lunch there and nearly regretted it when the bill came. I say nearly because it was sooooo good which wiped out the regret. So - here are the pics - This first one is the BEST!!! Macy really cracks me up!

Chaser and the Mama! I swear that these kids cannot take a single normal looking picture.

As you can see - the day was a sucess. We also got to enjoy a birthday party for Ella Jane (our old neighbor and friend from church) on Sunday night. Mackenzie got to go to a Hannah Montana Halloween Extravaganza with Taylor on Sunday afternoon. Also, Taylor spent the night on Friday night. I am shocked that they are still friends...Kenzie has definitely traded us in for her...but oh well. I figure we are just at the beginning of that stage.

Ok - I know this has been a lengthy blog - This has been the first moment today that I have had a little peace and quiet. Thanks to Ella (and Lauren) - YOU ROCK!!!!!! I swear that these kids will not play alone for 5 minutes unless they have an outside friend to distract them from me. Ok - so I am going to stop blogging and enjoy the silence for a few more minutes before I go save Lauren.

Actually- a goat that will let that many kids pet them, has probably been raised on a bottle in someone's garage, or in their barn and they fed them by hand. Goats are very personable and make good lawn mowers as well as pets. And some of them, are too smart for their own good!

No need to save me, it's actually great to have the kids over. It's saves me from an ornery Ella. She's so much happier when your kids come over to play. I'm sorry we missed you guys on Saturday, we were at Parker Square at the same time. I love all of the family activities around here.
