Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I am officially the worst daughter EVER!!!!! I didnt call. I didnt write. I didnt email. I didnt blog. Ugh! I should be fired!
I am making a year of this actually. I have missed EVERYONE in my family's birthday this year - by missed - I mean that I didn't call. I have thought about each and every one of you - just haven't called. Ugh - I am disgusted in myself!
So - on Monday - I thought all day - tomorrow is Mom's birthday - dont forget to call!! Tuesday morning - thinking ... dont forget to call... one crazy day later...YOU FORGOT TO CALL!!!!!!!!!!!
So - anyway. My mom is amazing. She would never forget to call me on my birthday. Even though she is getting pretty old! :) Just kidding! And the only reason I can joke about that is because my mom is so young. And she looks even younger than she really is... She is 5-0 this year! With 4 grandkids!! And people still think we look more like sisters. I hope that I have the energy that she has when I am 50...although that may never happen since I am stuck at age 28.
I feel like I am rambling. It is because I am trying to make up for the lack of calling!
I really do adore my mom. She has always been a solid rock in our family. She has faith that can move mountains. I have learned so much about being a wife and a mother from her. Gosh, I really did have such a good example to follow. I think that we don't truly appreciate our moms until we become them. And by become them - I mean that in a few different ways. I hear myself as my mother all the time! The things that I PROMISED myself I would NEVER EVER say to my kids - I say them. And I mean them...all the time! She has so much love to give her family and it pours out through things like her support, her prayers and her time. I know that my mom is praying for me daily. What a comfort to know that. I love you so much mom. Happy Birthday!!!

Hey Shauna, I want you to know you're not the only one who was gonna call and didn't! I had planned to, and at supper time here I remembered, 'darn' that time difference I knew it was to late to call then! I loved your 'tribute' and couldn't agree with you more! She is an Amazing Woman!!! Your 'speal' on motherhood... also right on the money! I am my mother... and you are yours... it just happens that way no matter how you plan it! It's just cool that we have such amazing women in our family so it's not a bad thing! Love you, and love what you did with my blog... one day I'm going to use it, I promise!
