Macy, my 3 year old, has a really cool brown spot in her blue eye. It has always perplexed us. It is stunning and special, and everyone is mesmerized by that spot.
I keep meaning to research it more. So, today I did!
Here is the rundown:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color
Often, newborns have blue eyes, which change to green, hazel, light brown or dark brown. This is possibly the origin of the idiom "being blue-eyed" (i. e. naive; gullible) or having "baby blues", or striking blue eye color.
It is thought that exposure to light after birth triggers the production of melanin in the iris of the eye. By three years of age, the eyes produce and store enough melanin to indicate their natural shade. While changes in eye color of infants are more common, even in adults, eye color changes are seen, most often as a result of exposure to the sun. Sunlight triggers melanin production in the eye, as it does to the skin.

Eye drops containing a prostaglandin analogue (such as latanoprost) may result in a permanently darkened iris; these eye drops are commonly used to treat open-angle glaucoma.[58]

As you know, Miss O has this same brown spot in a sea of blue....it has actually faded through the years-I wonder if Macy's will. Hope you had a good Christmas..now back to the grind!
I have a friend with the same thing. It's actually really beautiful, just like on your daughter's eye. Makes her so unique and special. :)
i think she's got amazing eyes.

Very neat - my mother in law has one brown eye and one blue eye!
Super cool.
What time did you post this? I sure wish that was more obvious.
