Mission: We Need a Break (Day 4)

Posted by Shauna |

This has been one of the best weeks of Mission: Shauna SAHM. Yes - I am going to refer to EVERYTHING in my life as a Mission now! So back off.

Everything just feels like a mission now-a-days.

So - back to what I was saying - This week has been great. I started on Monday with the whole lock the girl in her room (her beautiful room as we all have seen) - and let her rest - and let me rest - plan. Monday - she hollared for about 5 minutes. Then slept. Tuesday: Did a cycle of crying, talking, playing, quiet, cry, talk, play and so on. I only left her in there for an hour - she didnt sleep at all. But I still got a break and so did she. Wednesday: I closed the door - she didnt even cry - right to sleep. Today: Closed the door - no crying - right to sleep - still asleep. So - I think that this whole Mission is quite a success! Why - oh why - didnt I do this sooner. She is just happier when she is awake too! It is truly a huge blessing!

Oh, oh...I had another thing happen today that may be hard to believe.

Chase comes and gets me this morning to look out into the backyard at Barbie (the glorious dog). So - I am looking - and looking - and looking - I cannot seem to spot Barbie. And Chase is yelling to look toward Kip's Wicked Awesome Castle (name complimentary of Laura) - I am looking - and looking - Then I see her.

Our Dog... The dog that clearly has super-natural dog powers. Is. Up. In. The. Fort.

I still cannot believe it. Lately she has been jumping over our gate that is at the bottom of the stairs to come upstairs in the morning. She never knocks the thing over. I put it up a few stairs a few days ago so she couldnt get a running start or anything. She is still clearing the thing. I dont know how she does it and I definitely dont know how she got up the 5+ foot ladder to the 2nd floor of the fort. I have great balance and thumbs and it is a task! Anyhow - the dog is supernatural and it is obvious that EVEN if we do build a dog run - she will escape it.

Ok - I was about to say "that's it". But its not. I got the card reader. It is wonderful - I LOVE IT! Thanks for that suggestion, Staci. BUT. Macy picked up my camera and dropped it on the wood floor and broke it yesterday. Are you kidding me? Can a sister get a break? Yes, Britni - I just said, can a sister get a break.

Now That's It!

Have a great afternoon!

Hi Shauna, you should've named this dog "Houdini"! Seems like she has magical powers! LOL
I have seen my cat walk the ladder to Matt's top bunk....then walk back down with a huge stuffed animal in her mouth. WTH? It is so funny! Worse than children.
Good luck!
Lots of love,
Jan

LOL!!!!!!!!! I don't think you're meant to take pictures!!!

As for the dog...our 110 lb black lab can climb over the chain link fence (hasn't done it since he was fixed...I think he was going after the females! lol). He's also climbed up our big extension ladder that Mike had leaned against the side of the house.

I hope you can catch the dog on video sometime...that's amazing! I would be FLOORED if my weenie dog was up in a fort like that :-) I'm so glad your "missions" are working out so well--I think I'm going to start Abby early on this idea "Mommy needs to rest, and you need to rest." She'll get that at 9 months right?
