I have a busy day scheduled today. But, I wanted to tell you about one of the first things on my agenda because I am super excited about it!
This morning, I am going to meet with my brand new personal trainer at ProActiveWorX, here in Flower Mound. Her name is Laci & I think we are going to have a love-hate relationship. What is exciting about all of this is that you, dear reader, are going to get a play-by-play of this whole process.
Laci & I will be documenting the whole transformation here and on burbmom.net.
Get ready for diary entries, menu plans, input from Laci, video blogs, pictures, pictures and more pictures. Ugh. You will really enjoy this. I, on the other hand, will be mortified at the number of pictures of me that will be on the world wide web. I am a big fan of the pretty picture of my face. **We are all aware of this.** But, I have a feeling some of these pictures will not be so pretty...or of my face.

I digress...
One of the first steps of this process for me is deciding on a name for this "project". I have decided to let you come up with that for me! For the next few days, I would like to hear of any ideas that you have. Something catchy, funny, serious, whatever you think will best describe my journey!

Goals are a big deal to me.
I like them. I think they are important. And I think it is important to write them down. You may disagree with me (it probably isn't be the first time) - but anyhow. I do goals.
Kip & I like to focus on a few areas:
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Fitness
4. Finance
5. Fun (we added this one a few years ago)
We will be sitting down this weekend to do ours together. But I wanted to go ahead and put a few out there in the blogosphere for your reading enjoyment and my accountability:
- I have to lose weight. I. Have. To. I am the heaviest and un-"healthy"est that I have ever been in my whole life. Except when I was pregnant with Chase...those 9 months took the cake. Literally. I need to loose about 20-30 pounds. AND I want to do it in the healthiest manner possible.
- I plan to sit down at the same table to eat with my entire family at least 5 nights a week.
- Take a vacation with my husband.
- Continue to grow burbmom.net - I would like to see burbmom.net go live in at least 20 other suburbs in 2009.
- Work less. I love doing blog designs so much but I was so under-priced in 2008 that I worked nearly 365 days of the year and spent many of those days at the computer for 8-12 hours. No, really...I did. Ask my husband and kids...and my 300 PLUS customers. It is important to me to help provide for my family but I need balance. So, please keep those design orders coming, but expect to pay more than $25 for a blog design. :)
- Take at least two Bible studies at church & continue to grow in my faith and listen to God.
- Eat lots and lots of fruits & veggies. I just have a hard time eating well. And rather than eating less, I think I just need to eat better.

The good news for my low maintenance ways is that I recently found a haven. A haven for girls of any maintenance level:
Splurge Salon.
So when the girls at Splurge suggested a mommy make-over for burbmom.net (the greatest Flower Mound, Highland Village, Bartonville, Lantana, Argyle and Double Oak, Texas website and social network ever created. Amen.) I jumped at the chance. Those Splurge girls have mad skillz and nice tile.
Of course when my burbmom.net (the greatest Flower Mound, Highland Village, Bartonville, Lantana, Argyle and Double Oak, Texas website and social network ever created. Amen.) business partners found out, they weren't satisfied with just a perk-up of my current style...
NO!
They wanted drama.
They wanted change.
They wanted Jennifer Garner.
Sure! Who doesn't want Jennifer Garner?
And so the process began. Danna worked on my color.
Seriously people, did Holly just post pictures of herself in foil?
Yes she did.
And she is still talking in third person.
Please make her stop.
Now.
While I was waiting for my color to color (super technical beauty term), I surfed burbmom.net (the greatest Flower Mound, Highland Village, Bartonville, Lantana, Argyle and Double Oak, Texas website and social network ever created. Amen.).
See, I told you this is a haven...
Oh, and then there was the eyebrow issue. Again.
Jenna expertly crafted contoured brows from bushy overgrowth. She started with wax.
And then I died.
Whew. I came back to life for the haircut.
And then Jenna used her invisible scissors and special-magic-gun-pointy hands...
OK, she really used real scissors, but it was magical.
And then it was finished.
*drum roll*
*wait for it*
*wait for it*
Ta-dah!
I love it. I am still a little freaky every time I pass a mirror or window but I am having fun getting used to it.

So I keep teasing with this project that I am working on...
Well, the project is pretty much live. We are doing a "soft launch" - that is what you do when you are a fancy, real-live website, in case you were wondering.
A few months back, my good friend, Holly, approached me with this idea. An idea that had been in the workings of my brain for quite a while. I think she has the type of powers to infiltrate people's thoughts...she got in and stole it!
No really...it was perfect. Just perfect.
So, together - Holly, Bianca & I began meeting nearly everyday...and putting this site together! It is amazing. You are going to love it.
When you link to the site - just know that ANYONE can go on and read it. Mom, dad, sister, brother, whomever. We are targeting Local Moms - but anyone can read and use our resources. There is a social network on the back-end of the site, that we are going to keep a little more private and directed at LOCAL WOMEN. There is an approval process for that area of the website.
Anyhow...go check it out - tinker around and let me know if you like it! I am really proud of it. And we are excited about the possibilities.
